Guemes (pronounced GWEE-mus) is a quiet island in the San Juan Island maze of over 100 islands from mountanious masses to tiny islets. Overlooked by most tourists, Guemes is accessed by boat or by a small county owned 22 car ferry.

You could almost skip a stone to the shops and pubs of Anacortes just across Guemes Channel. On the island, there's one store/cafe called Anderson's General Store located on the south end of the island near the ferry dock. There you can purchase gas and supplies. The last ferry on the island leaves the Anacortes side at 10:00 pm. After
that, you better have what you need for the night, because you have settled in for
a relaxing evening unlike anywhere else in the world.
